16 Weeks

16 weeks yesterday! Since my sister is in town for Christmas, we thought it would be fun to take a comparison photo. Here she is 22 weeks, crazy the difference of 6 weeks, but this is also her second baby, so I’m not surprised.

I just keep telling myself that I’m not showing as much because of how good my ab muscles were, ha.

It’s a…

It’s a…GIRL!

Reese (our niece) is pretty excited about having two baby girls to hold next year (one her baby sister and one her baby cousin). The baby girls will be about six weeks apart so we pretty much are already betting they will be BFFs.

Drew and I are also very excited and we were actually both surprised, because we both thought the baby would be a boy…. due to dreams of having a boy and being sick so much. But on the inside I was hoping for a girl and Drew was hoping for a boy, but we are most thankful for healthy baby.

We found out at 15 weeks (last Saturday) because we went to an early gender ultrasound and 3d appointment. A lot of people claim that you can’t tell gender 100% at that point, but with the added 3D, us and the ultrasound tech are able to see full on what’s happening down there. Our tech said she was 100% certain it was a girl because of the way she was positioned and the fact that she was moving so we got a full view of everything. But just in case, we have our normal anatomy scan appointment coming up on January 17 (18w6d), so we’ll confirm it’s  a girl, but we feel very confident in what we and the tech saw.

I keep telling Drew at least Eddy is a boy… but maybe next time!

Boy or Girl?

It was a very merry and exciting Christmas for us, as we got to find out the gender of our little baby this past weekend. We waited to share with family on Christmas, but now we’re gearing up to share the news with everyone. We thought it would be fun to see what everyone thought, so take our little poll and make your prediction. Is baby Wyler a boy or girl?

Check back tomorrow or Saturday, and we’ll share the results + and the correct answer!

15 Weeks

Today I’m 15 weeks along. The past few weeks have been a bit more rough with morning sickness, which seems to come whenever it feels. Though at least I’m not nauseous all day like some people. It just hits me out of the blue and that’s it and then it’s over.

On Tuesday I had my 14 week appointment, it was a quick one where the doctor just checks to see if you have any new questions and then they check your blood pressure, weight and the babies heartbeat. I was surprised to learn I have not gained any weight, but I’m assuming it’s because of being sick. So now my next challenge is to reach 100 lbs by my 18 weeks appointment!

14 Weeks

Today our baby is 14 weeks old… well 14 weeks old in my stomach. And for the first time this pregnancy, I’ve felt not that great. On Monday I thought I had morning sickness, but then on Tuesday and Wednesday I threw up multiple times but also had a fever so then I assumed it was the flu. Then Saturday I felt lightheaded and short of breath and also threw up…. so I’m trying to pay more attention about making sure I get enough iron, staying hydrated and eating healthy. Hoping this week is better….

Yesterday we also celebrated Christmas with Drew’s Mom and brother and sister. Baby got some great gifts already too, though they are probably more for me and Drew. We got a rocking chair (which is currently in our living room for now), a camera bag which I will use as a diaper bag, some cute storage things, a hamper and some clothes. Baby already has a ton of things already, I’m so bad at being patient.

Kitchen Countertops Sneak Peek

So our new countertops are in, along with a new sink, faucet and garbage disposal! It’s soo nice to have a real countertop vs the plywood top we were using for over a month.

Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten the chance to take good photos of it in daylight (since all week days it’s dark when I get home from work), but I’m hoping this weekend I can snap a few in better lighting. So check out these pics and then check back later to see updated photos!

And yes that is an under-mounted sink with laminate. So many people told me it wasn’t possible, but there is a line of sinks that are made for laminate under-mounts. We went with the Karran Quartz sink in Midnight and we’re so happy with it. More details to come…

13 Weeks

Woot I’m finally in the second trimester, meaning 1/3 is over which is nice to think about. I am also looking forward to not gagging so much on things such as toothpaste, tylenol, and weird food smells and FINALLY having enough energy once I get home from work or on the weekend to clean my house. I’ve been really slacking since I’m exhausted once I get home from work and usually doze off on the couch by 8:30pm.

And now that I’m finally to the second trimester and starting to show just a tiny bit, I thought it would be neat to document how my body grows with this baby inside of it throughout my pregnancy. So browsing pinterest, I saw this silhouette idea and figured I’d try it out, especially because I’m not very good with selfies.

So as you can currently see the baby is starting to show, however it may just have been my spaghettios I had just eaten for lunch. Obviously it’s not much for the normal person to notice, maybe just me especially since my butt is currently bigger than my belly.

It’ll be fun to look back when I’m huge and try to remember how little I was at one point.

Baby’s Room Inspiration

Surprise Surprise, I’ve already got the babies room figured out what I want to do design-wise. Here is what the room looks like currently. It’s kind of been a catch all room while we work on all of our other projects.

We’ll be keeping the same wall color, however we’ll need to repaint the ceiling since there is a couple spots on it and we didn’t do that when we first moved in. We’ll also keep the yellow dresser and desk, as well as the gray rug and striped curtains.

Here is the overall look we’re going for…
My parents already said they’d buy us a crib, and we’re going to get the same one my sister has. We love the modern look and it fits in with the rest of our home, style-wise. The rest of the stuff in the photo are just an example of the look we’re going for. We also aren’t theme people, so there is no nursery theme, just a mix of patterns and colors – keeping it gender neutral so we can re-use the room say we have a few kids down the line.

I’ve also started a pinterest board for the baby. Actually I’ve had it for awhile, but I just now made it “non-secret”. Ha soooo sneaky are we.

Eating for Two – Thanksgiving 2013

eating-for-two

Sooo excited to finally share this secret we’ve been keeping…this Thanksgiving I’ll be eating for two! Drew will probably also be eating for two, but he just likes to eat a lot 🙂

Today our little baby is 11 weeks and 5 days. Last week, we had our first ultrasound, so here he/she is at 10 week 4 days. It was so surreal to see it wiggle its little body all around while the tech took a million measurements. We also got to hear the strong heartbeat.

ultrasound 10 weeks

It’s also fun to be pregnant at the same time my sister is. I’m able to text her about every little question like… does it hurt when you sneeze and so on. Our little kids are going to be bffs.

Drew and I are pretty excited and still hasn’t hit us 100% that we’ll be parents, but we’re looking forward to the next 6 months and years to come!
