23 Weeks

Baby girl is 23 weeks along!

She’s been getting a lot more active these past few days. The other day I was telling Drew I think she was doing karate in there. And from what I read she can officially hear our voices now and will recognize us when she is born!

We got a Crib!

More progress has been made on baby girl’s nursery, and it finally is starting to feel like an official nursery vs. just another bedroom. On Tuesday her crib arrived and we were so excited to set it up!

My parents were ready to purchase the crib right at the beginning of the year, but it was out of stock for awhile. I was contacting the parent company every week, making sure it wasn’t being discontinued because this was the crib I had wanted since my sister got hers two years ago. And finally one day there was an “add to cart” button vs. the “out of stock” message that had been displayed!

Here is the crib all set up…
My mom is making a quilt that will match the room (see a sneak peek here), as well as bumpers. I also am going to make a crib skirt since right now the mattress is up high and will be for the first few months. Eventually it will drop and then you won’t be able to see it.

See below how the rest of the nursery is coming together. And yes the walls are staying that color. We also have to figure out what we’re putting on the walls, but hung a mirror (a really dusty mirror) on a nail that was already hanging just to see how it will look. I’ll post an update of that soon!

In between the closet and window, we have three Ribba picture ledges to hang that we’ll display books on. Also, all those paper lanterns and flowers (currently sitting on the tall dresser) will be hung from the ceiling above the rocking chair, we just took them down to paint the ceiling. Also, I LOVE this lampshade (from Target) below.

Eddy has been loving spending time in this room, he even thinks the crib is his cage. We’ll continue to work on the nursery more and more each weekend, and will keep posting updates!

22 Weeks

22 weeks today!

Baby has been getting more active everyday. This week Drew was able to finally feel her move around! Everyone says it’s the coolest feeling and they are so right.

We worked on her nursery a bit this week (I’ll post photos tomorrow) and finally ordered the crib because it came back in stock. It’s supposed to arrive Thursday, and I don’t think we’ll wait to set it up, so excited!

21 Weeks

Today marks 21 weeks, only 19 more to go!

21 weeks pregnant

I’d have to say this week was pretty un-eventful baby-wise. I did however start cleaning out the nursery a bit more and finished painting the window frame white (that I started over a year ago). What’s left to do? Paint the ceiling, purchase the crib (when it finally comes back in stock), hang some decor up on the walls and then organize all her things.

This nursery business is a piece of cake compared to the rest of our “to-do list before baby” that would include…

  • Paint kitchen ceiling
  • Seal tile/grout backsplash in kitchen
  • Replace 4 doors upstairs
  • Bathroom remodel (tear out and re-tile shower, tile the floor, paint the vanity, replace countertop, paint the walls, yikes!)
  • Clean garage & basement

Fingers crossed we can finish in time!

20 Weeks!

This weekend marked the halfway point, this baby is half done baking! Since I was at my sisters this weekend, we thought we’d do a silhouette shot together. Here she is 27 weeks with her second baby, and I’m 20 weeks. Ha, my belly looks so pointy compared to Becky’s.

This week I while Drew was in China, I worked on cleaning up the nursery. I also inventoried all her clothes and things I have for her already, so that I can make sure we register for everything we’re missing.

And finally, we officially decided on a name together, but we aren’t sharing it until she’s born. Eek can’t wait!

19 Weeks!

Today marks 19 weeks pregnant… only 21 to go!

Yesterday we had our anatomy scan/ultrasound. It’s where they measure every little tiny thing, such as legs, arms, head, stomach, heart, liver, kidneys. That also means we got to see our baby for quite some time. Unfortunately, I totally forgot to eat a snack on the way to the appointment. I was hoping it would give her a little boost to move around. So instead she was sleeping in the most uncomfortable positions. Like completely folded in half with her feet above her head. Towards the end of the appointment she started moving a tiny bit and would suck on her toes.

The tech also confirmed it was a girl (we didn’t even tell her we already knew) so I feel pretty comfortable purchasing all the girl stuff now. Now, we just have to narrow down the name!

I think Eddy will be a good big brother, the way he always has to check out all the stuff we buy for her, or the fact that he kept trying to get in the photos above. Though he is totally terrified of the Mamaroo.

18 Weeks

Today I’m 18 weeks. And even though I still get comments all the time that I’m not showing yet, I feel like I am. My clothes definitely are starting to get tighter!

This Friday we have another dr appointment along with our anatomy scan/ultrasound. I always look forward to them since that’s really the only time you are re-assured, yup I’m pregnant. We’ll also have the dr verify that it is a girl again from our early gender ultrasound.

I also think I’m starting to feel the baby move a bit. It’s very faint flutters so far, but I know in just about 2 weeks or so I’ll feel full on kicks and I won’t be able to deny it! Only 22 weeks until she’s here, which is kind of crazy when you think about it. I’ve already started making a list of things we need to do/finish before she’s here so that this summer and the following 6 months we don’t have any house projects and we can just eat it all up.

16 Weeks

16 weeks yesterday! Since my sister is in town for Christmas, we thought it would be fun to take a comparison photo. Here she is 22 weeks, crazy the difference of 6 weeks, but this is also her second baby, so I’m not surprised.

I just keep telling myself that I’m not showing as much because of how good my ab muscles were, ha.

It’s a…

It’s a…GIRL!

Reese (our niece) is pretty excited about having two baby girls to hold next year (one her baby sister and one her baby cousin). The baby girls will be about six weeks apart so we pretty much are already betting they will be BFFs.

Drew and I are also very excited and we were actually both surprised, because we both thought the baby would be a boy…. due to dreams of having a boy and being sick so much. But on the inside I was hoping for a girl and Drew was hoping for a boy, but we are most thankful for healthy baby.

We found out at 15 weeks (last Saturday) because we went to an early gender ultrasound and 3d appointment. A lot of people claim that you can’t tell gender 100% at that point, but with the added 3D, us and the ultrasound tech are able to see full on what’s happening down there. Our tech said she was 100% certain it was a girl because of the way she was positioned and the fact that she was moving so we got a full view of everything. But just in case, we have our normal anatomy scan appointment coming up on January 17 (18w6d), so we’ll confirm it’s  a girl, but we feel very confident in what we and the tech saw.

I keep telling Drew at least Eddy is a boy… but maybe next time!

Boy or Girl?

It was a very merry and exciting Christmas for us, as we got to find out the gender of our little baby this past weekend. We waited to share with family on Christmas, but now we’re gearing up to share the news with everyone. We thought it would be fun to see what everyone thought, so take our little poll and make your prediction. Is baby Wyler a boy or girl?

Check back tomorrow or Saturday, and we’ll share the results + and the correct answer!
