Blast from the Past: Close Sisters

Me and my little sister Becky never really used to get along. She’d pick on me and beat me up, and yes you heard that right. Since we’ve all grown up a bit, got married, and now she’s become a mom – we tend to get along much better. All four of us actually enjoy hanging out together, they have become my closest friends.

Her husband, Josh is currently looking for a position as a children’s pastors. They’ve considered a few churches in other states and that honestly didn’t sit well with me. You’d think way back when we wouldn’t have cared where we all end up when we were grown up, but now that we all have our own lives, I’m glad we are all so close, and location-close. I couldn’t imagine them not being here for the day-to-day stuff + I do think it would be neat for all the cousins (all our future kids) to be able to grow up as close friends.

Josh, Becky and Reese

This weekend, on Labor Day – my sister asked if I could take some photos of her cute little family. Obviously their maternity photos were a lot easier to take, due to Reese being trapped in a belly… this time not so much! PS check out her cute pretty little toe nails!

Oh and this was one of the first times I forced myself to use the manual mode on my camera. I’m pretty happy that I’m finally nailing the whole aperture/shutter speed thing!

You know… just cleaning up spit up.

This one below, I was just working on the lighting and we thought it was so cute when we went back to look at them all – it looks like she’s praying.

Reese – Three Months

How is time going by so fast that this little cutie is three months old? This time she’s full of smiles and giggles, but added some chunky thighs too – the only time in your life where you can rock chunky thighs 🙂

Celebrating the 4th

[zilla_likes]
This year the 4th fell on a Wednesday and was crazy weird. I had a hard time remembering what day it was and if it was a weekend with working two days, off one day, working two days  – I miss the days of extra floating holidays 🙁

Since Drew and I had to work on the 5th – we went to the Menomonee Falls parade and fireworks with some of my family on the 3rd. It was pretty hot and sweaty, but we toughed it out. As you can see Reese was a huge fan of the parade (or maybe next year…)

On the 4th – we  celebrate my dad’s birthday with my family. We went over in the morning, had lunch, and created a slip n slide. Because that didn’t really help the 100 degree heat, we then headed over to our pool to cool off. We ended the night eating cake and playing a long game of Settlers of Catan.

I also got to see my best friend from high school, Morgan, because she was in town to visit family. It was great to catch up with her as always – I’m so glad her family moved back here!

Reese // newborn posed photos

Poor little baby, not even a week old and all of her lady friends (her mom, aunts, and grandma) were playing dress up with the baby for some cute photos. We even had a couple incidents with pooping while being naked – but none the less, she sure is cute! In a few weeks we’ll try a few of the more adventurous poses we had in mind that she was just too little to do.

I’ve learned it’s pretty tricky photographing newborns… you just gotta keep snapping photos and hoping one looks good between all the mistakes. There’s a blooper I threw in just because she still is a cutie even when she’s not liking the photo taking process.

Later on she was sleeping and looking like she was having some rough dreams, I laughed that she was probably dreaming this scene of us trying to get all these cute photos again.
