Blast from the Past: Close Sisters

Me and my little sister Becky never really used to get along. She’d pick on me and beat me up, and yes you heard that right. Since we’ve all grown up a bit, got married, and now she’s become a mom – we tend to get along much better. All four of us actually enjoy hanging out together, they have become my closest friends.

Her husband, Josh is currently looking for a position as a children’s pastors. They’ve considered a few churches in other states and that honestly didn’t sit well with me. You’d think way back when we wouldn’t have cared where we all end up when we were grown up, but now that we all have our own lives, I’m glad we are all so close, and location-close. I couldn’t imagine them not being here for the day-to-day stuff + I do think it would be neat for all the cousins (all our future kids) to be able to grow up as close friends.

Blast from the Past: Glasses

The other day Drew mentioned he should get his eyes checked – I immediately thought of these photos and laughed inside a bit. The first one is from 3rd grade, he’s a little cute nerd here who loved legos. And the later one is from high school and even with glasses there, he is a cute little nerd – love him!

Blast from the Past

Today we got to see our amazing friends Serah and Gabe – we drove down to Ikea, and on the way back had lunch with them and to see their adorable little twins. Somehow we brought up this play (Sound of Music) where Drew had to wear makeup that was really hard to remove. He even had to go to Applebees wearing it and look like a complete weirdo. Also, I just now realized the huge height difference between us…. so much so that I barely made it into the photo. Thank you, photographer-whoever-you-were.

Blast From the Past: Colorado

Recently, my macbook pro had an incident where the logic board when bye bye (for the 2nd time). When I went in to get it fixed the Mac Genius asked if I had everything backed up. I lied and said yes but the started to get worried. I hadn’t been backing things up because last time this happened they didn’t delete anything.

I just got it back on Wednesday and the first thing I prayed for was that my stuff hadn’t disappeared. I had tons of file and photos that I would like to keep. So once I got home I immediately backed up everything on my external harddrive (which had 400g empty space – what was I thinking?). While doing so I came across many blast from the past photos. I kept finding great and some hilarious photos and immediately emailed them to all sorts of people, which made this process take 10x longer.

This little incident has inspired me to post each week (trying for Fridays) a blast from the past photo. This week is a photo from a Fine Arts Trip to Denver, Co. We had a few days to explore the landscape and took this photo with some of my closest friends at that time (and some still so). It’s crazy that this photo is legit – the background totally looks fake but I promise, it’s not!

PS. The second from the left is my friend Heather who is an amazing photographer. I’ve recently been working with her to update her photography brand logo, look and website. Go check out the site we are just putting the finishing touches on 🙂
