A few weeks ago we dedicated Emerald at our church, Life Church. We’re so thankful for a church that values these little babies and families.

The reason we dedicate her is because God entrusted her to us and we commit to train her up to follow him. We also pray that she always loves God and loves others. We love you little girl and so does Jesus!

And confession, we took these photos below of her the next day. The actual day of her dedication Emerald was throwing up (yikes) and we almost had to reschedule but the started acting better as the day went on and thankful she didn’t throw up on the stage, ha. Poor girl, we hate seeing her sick!

But man that cheesy smile 😉

Say what? 10 months old? No way…

This past month this little baby girl turned into a little girl with a huge personality, if you can’t tell by the photo above. Introducing her “silly face” 🙂 She loves to make it!

She probably weighs about 16 lbs (she doesn’t go to the doctor until 12 months old), is wearing 9 month clothes, size 2 diapers (3 when she goes to bed). She is a great sleeper, sleeping about 10-12 hours per night and pretty good about naps, though she has her days. She is crawling around all over the place and getting into trouble. She does respond well to the word “no” and is talking like crazy. Some of her favorite words are “dada”, “baba”, “eh-yee” (eddy), “lala” but of course hasn’t gotten “mama” yet.

Since she’s been crawling she works up an appetite and has become a great eater. She loves it when we share our food and loves to eat finger food but still eats baby food great. Her favorites are carrots, bananas, and turkey – but loves snacks like cheerios, crackers, and puffs.

Also now that she’s crawling she plays much better since she goes exploring – which resulted in us finishing another baby gate! She’s also starting to pull up on everything. Last but not least she gives us kisses back. We so love this little girl!

A 60 degree day called for a trip to the park while Becky and Josh were in town with the girls! Since it was a Friday and I had to work I took a few hours of vacation just to enjoy her first park visit (it was Charleigh’s first time too), so so worth it!

At first she wasn’t sure what to think of the swings, hence her glare, but by time we were ready to leave she was having so much fun! Can’t wait to go again!

Oh man this girl… we can’t believe that she’s already 9 months old!

If you asked me my favorite baby stage so far, I’d probably say the current stage every time, but for real this 9 month old is a dream. She’s an amazing sleeper, eats and nurses great, loves to play and explore new things, loves to cuddle and laugh and smile and she’s still not crawling yet, so that’s kind of helpful (not saying I’ve been pushing her to crawl the past few weeks) since she’s immobile for the most part.

She weighs about 17-ish lbs (she’ll go to the doctor next week) and is wearing 6-9 month clothes. She’s got two bottom teeth but the top two are so close to coming in. She loves to eat baby food (her favorites are fruit like bananas, apples and pears) but she’ll eat vegetables ok, her favorite being sweet potato. She also loves to snack on yogurt, crackers and cheerios. Her favorite toy is anything that makes noise when you shake it.
