Emerald’s Dedication

A few weeks ago we dedicated Emerald at our church, Life Church. We’re so thankful for a church that values these little babies and families.

The reason we dedicate her is because God entrusted her to us and we commit to train her up to follow him. We also pray that she always loves God and loves others. We love you little girl and so does Jesus!

And confession, we took these photos below of her the next day. The actual day of her dedication Emerald was throwing up (yikes) and we almost had to reschedule but the started acting better as the day went on and thankful she didn’t throw up on the stage, ha. Poor girl, we hate seeing her sick!

But man that cheesy smile 😉

Emerald – 10 Months

Say what? 10 months old? No way…

This past month this little baby girl turned into a little girl with a huge personality, if you can’t tell by the photo above. Introducing her “silly face” 🙂 She loves to make it!

She probably weighs about 16 lbs (she doesn’t go to the doctor until 12 months old), is wearing 9 month clothes, size 2 diapers (3 when she goes to bed). She is a great sleeper, sleeping about 10-12 hours per night and pretty good about naps, though she has her days. She is crawling around all over the place and getting into trouble. She does respond well to the word “no” and is talking like crazy. Some of her favorite words are “dada”, “baba”, “eh-yee” (eddy), “lala” but of course hasn’t gotten “mama” yet.

Since she’s been crawling she works up an appetite and has become a great eater. She loves it when we share our food and loves to eat finger food but still eats baby food great. Her favorites are carrots, bananas, and turkey – but loves snacks like cheerios, crackers, and puffs.

Also now that she’s crawling she plays much better since she goes exploring – which resulted in us finishing another baby gate! She’s also starting to pull up on everything. Last but not least she gives us kisses back. We so love this little girl!

And a day in the life of this silly girl…

Easter 2015

Easter (and all holidays) are so much different now that we’re parents – there’s something so exciting about making a little Easter basket for your daughter or buying her other gifts!

We celebrated Easter over the weekend by heading to Easter service at Life Church on Saturday. Then on Sunday we headed to Sheboygan for lunch at Becky and Josh’s house. And of course I took a million photos… problem is I need to get in front of the camera more…

Vanessa’s 26th Birthday

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22, err 26 – wait when did that happen? How come I still feel so young?!

To celebrate, Drew took off of work to spend the day with Emerald and I. First we were going to sleep in, but Em missed the memo and wanted to party early. Thankfully she just chatted away to herself until 7, so I could still sleep in somewhat. We let her get a good morning nap in (while Drew agreed to take a few photos with me, see below) and then we headed to Chilis for lunch. Then Drew took me shopping to my favorite stores: Target and Hobby Lobby, ha. Next up was the park to play on the swings and then we headed to Moes for dinner.

Then my parents allowed us to have a date night while the watched Emerald. Instead of the ol’ movie & dinner date we decided to try something new and paint pottery – we both picked out a mug to dress up. Drew went with a Milwaukee Tool theme and I went with an ombre theme. We’ll pick them up in a few days after they’ve been fired to see how they look. Then we ended the night with some coffee and relaxing at Starbucks.

25 was a pretty great year, but hoping 26 is even better!
PS when you start asking for new kitchen towels for birthdays you know you are somewhat getting old 😉
