Our cat makes me laugh, but we aren’t cat ladies or cat men – we just love our cat.

Christmas 2011
The New Year is just 1 day away and I can honestly say this has been a great year – great jobs for both Drew and I, and are blessed with great family and friends.
For Christmas Drew and I got to spend time with both families, Drew’s Mom on Christmas Eve Day, then we attended the Life Church Christmas Eve service, then following we went over to my Uncle Scott and Aunt Kathy’s home. Then Christmas Day, Drew and I slept in, ate Monkey Muffins and opened presents. After, we went to Drew’s dad for brunch, then my parent’s house for dinner and to watch the Packer Game.
Also, some exciting news – Becky and Josh announced what they are having – a girl!
Christmas Traditions 2011
Last year we decided to make cookies and spell out Merry Christmas 2010, sooo we continued with the tradition this year and made cut out cookies spelling Merry Christmas 2011. We also decided to make m&m pretzel rings – yummmm! I love those way better than the cookies.
Also, take a peek at our decorations – they didn’t change much from last year, but it’s still fun to decorate!
Thanksgiving 2011
This year for Thanksgiving, we split time between the two families. On Sunday, we went to Drew’s moms house to eat turkey. Then on Thursday, Drew and I went to his dad’s house to watch the Packers beat the Lions. After the game, we headed over to my parents house to eat Thanksgiving dinner there. As usual, that means craziness with the cousins.
After we recovered from our turkey coma, Melissa, Jess, and my Mom went out shopping for Black Friday. We began the adventure at 9pm and finally concluded at 6am and crashed. I was very happy to have Friday off of work!
Drew’s Job!!!
We are soo0000 excited to say that Drew just found out he was offered a position at Milwaukee Electric Tool as a Mechanical Engineer. AND he accepted!!! He’ll begin his position in the Rotary Hammer Department upon graduation in June of 2012.
Drew briefly interned with Vanessa’s uncle Scott, just learning the ropes and the design process at Milwaukee Tool in October 201o. He began a second internship in June 2011 in the Rotary Hammer Department. There he designed, manufactured, assembled, and tested a rotary hammer prototype. Towards the end of his internship, he was asked to stay on through the school year. In October, he began the interview process for the position, which included numerous events and four 1-hour long interviews at the end.
He is super excited, because he loves the people he gets to work with and that it continues to challenge him and that he gets to apply all he has learned to this job. As he finished out his school year, he keeps in mind how things he is learning can benefit Milwaukee Electric.
Holy Hill / Fall 2011
Lucky us, we actually got to do TWO fall fun dates this year. The first being Elegant Farmer, and the second being driving out to Holy Hill to view the fall foliage as far as we could see. Climbing up the scenic tower was a bit intense. Imagine a super-skinny, old-sketchy stairway with tons of people trying to go up and down at the same time!
Fall Date Day 2011
We’ve made it a traditions (well this is only the 2nd time) to go out on a fall-themed date. This time our intention was to go to Elegant Farmer to pick apples and pumpkins, however we saw the “minimum amount” of apples you had to pick and it was just WAY too much for us to eat. So we picked two and ate them, then went to get pumpkins instead. Hopefully we’ll have time to go to a corn maze too and to carve the pumpkins!
Pinterest!
Wow – I had no idea what I was missing all along – not jumping on the bandwagon of pinterest. Its basically a visual bookmarking system for me. I’m pretty good at bookmarking things, however when you bookmark too many within your browser, it basically defeats the purpose. BUT I love Pinterest in that you can categorize them, view them visually and search your pins and others pins. So if you are on pinterest, follow me (Vanessa) or let me know you are on so I can follow you!
